Using Drafts in Booking

Drafts let you save a booking form halfway through and come back to it later. Think of it like saving your progress in a form so you donโ€™t lose your work if you get interrupted.

๐ŸŽฏ What Are Drafts?โ€‹

A draft is a saved copy of the booking form. You can:

  • Fill in some details now and finish later
  • Keep up to 20 different drafts
  • Load any draft, update it, and save again
  • Delete drafts you no longer need

๐Ÿ“ Where to Find Draft Optionsโ€‹

On the booking form, youโ€™ll see these buttons at the bottom:

ButtonWhat it does
New BookingClears the form and starts a fresh booking
My DraftsOpens a list of your saved drafts
Save DraftSaves the current form as a draft
Update DraftSaves changes to the draft you loaded (appears when you load a draft)

๐Ÿ’พ Saving a Draftโ€‹

  1. Fill in the booking form (customer, addresses, goods, etc.).
  2. Click Save Draft.
  3. A message confirms itโ€™s saved.
  4. The draft appears in My Drafts.

You can save as many as 20 drafts. Each one is stored separately.

๐Ÿ“‚ Viewing and Loading Draftsโ€‹

  1. Click My Drafts.
  2. A pop-up shows all your saved drafts with:
    • Customer name and job ID
    • Summary (pickups, deliveries, goods, truck info)
    • Date and time it was saved
  3. Click the arrow (โ†’) or the row to load a draft.
  4. The form fills with that draftโ€™s data.
  5. The button changes to Update Draft so you know youโ€™re editing that draft.

โœ๏ธ Updating a Draftโ€‹

If you loaded a draft and changed something:

  1. Make your changes in the form.
  2. Click Update Draft (instead of Save Draft).
  3. Changes are saved to that draft โ€” no new draft is created.

โž• Saving a New Draft from the Listโ€‹

While the draft list is open:

  1. Click Save current as new draft at the bottom.
  2. A new draft is created from your current form data.
  3. This works even if you had a draft loaded โ€” you get a copy instead of overwriting it.

๐Ÿ†• Starting a New Bookingโ€‹

To clear the form and start over:

  1. Click New Booking.
  2. If the form has data, youโ€™ll see a confirmation: โ€œThis will clear all current data. Unsaved changes will be lost. Continue?โ€
  3. Click to confirm.
  4. The form resets and scrolls to the top, ready for a new booking.

โš ๏ธ Important: Drafts Are Saved Only on Your Deviceโ€‹

Drafts are stored on your computer or device, not on the server. That means:

  • They stay on the machine where you saved them.
  • You wonโ€™t see them on another computer or phone.
  • You may lose them if you:
    • Clear your browser data or cookies
    • Use a different browser
    • Reinstall the browser
    • Use private or incognito mode (drafts may not persist)

To keep a booking permanently, use Submit Booking when youโ€™re ready. That sends it to the system and itโ€™s saved online.

๐Ÿ“‹ Quick Tipsโ€‹

  • Use drafts when youโ€™re interrupted or need to wait for more information.
  • Submit the booking when everything is ready so itโ€™s saved permanently.
  • You can delete drafts you no longer need from the My Drafts list (trash icon).
  • The New Booking button is only shown when youโ€™re creating a new booking, not when editing an existing one.
